A Story Book year for Jennings: A Follow up Interview

In 2009, Mary Jennings had a story book year, with her second 5-track EP release of her album “Storybook” along with her expansion EP with two additional songs to add to her creative library of music which came out during the last part of 2009. Jennings is earning herself to be one of the breakout solo female artists of the year and her popularity will continue to grow well into 2010. Not only did Jennings get a bountiful of recognitions by the media, her music was one of the highlights of the year with a top 16 song of the year picked by The Great Unknowns Presents fans along with rave music reviews by 50 other media outlets including Musical Discoveries, Cincy Groove, Music For Humans, and Voices to Hear, along with a ton of radio plays including 100.1FM KRUU, WRIR 97.3FM in Richmond, and dozens of other online radio stations and podcast shows.

What were the major highlights for you in 2009?
2009 was a great year for my music. It started on New Years when I opened for Mike Doughty at Maxwell’s in New Jersey. It was a great way to start off the year. I then put out my Storybook EP that I worked on with producer Dan McLoughlin (Weezer, Dinosaur Jr., Armor For Sleep, Ever Clear) in February. Throughout the rest of the year, I performed over 40 shows in 10 different states, showcased at a number of music conferences, and was featured in over 50 publications and blogs, one of which was the Great Unknowns!
Ha-ha! One of my favorites!

What plans do you have for this year?
This year, I plan to continue the momentum. I will be putting out a full length album in the late spring or summer and will continue to travel, perform shows, do video blogs, write songs, and hopefully better myself as a musician. I can’t begin to say how much it means to me to have all of the support for my music. I wouldn’t be able to continue without it.
Any chance that fans will get to hear more music from Jennings this year?
I will be coming out with an album and continuing to work the way I have been
What does your performing schedule look like so far this year?
Well let's see... I have a show this Wednesday at Piano's in NYC at 10pm, then Waltz Astoria Jan 30th @ 9pm in NYC, Feb 13th @ Bar East @ 9pm in NYC, RedGorilla Fest at @ Touche March 20th in Austin, I will be book a Nashville show March 16th, March 9th @ 8pm @ Fat Baby in NYC (it will be a clothing swap show), and I plan to tour the east coast in June.
