Ten Year Vamp aims to stay on top in 2010

2009 was a busy year for the indie-rock band from Albany, NY. Ten Year Vamp was not only busy for the calender filled scores of concert appearences, but they released their first hard-pounding with no disappointment full length album entitled, Don't Act Like You Know Me, a follow up to their 2006 six-track EP, Under the Mask.

Ten Year Vamp is probably THE most successful indie bands of 2009. Not only have they been voted “Best Local Band” in Capital Region Living Magazine, but they were also voted as #1 album of the year by Zack Zaggy and was selected among 100 bands with a top 10 rating on Wildy's World.

Ten Year Vamp has been mentioned on multiple media outlets across the country making this band one of the most talked about non-commerical bands in 2009.

Part of the bands sucesses is how they run their buisness. Although concert touring is the primary source of income, media coverage has become one of the main ingredients to their growing success. In September was the official release of their first music video for the song, "Never Know," directed by Jeff Knight. The video was aired on a local Tri-state area television program called, IndieMusic TV. In November, Microsoft also featured the band as part of the Windows 7 launch.

2010 will be another year in which the band will focus on adding new venues to their schedule and hopefully add more buzz with extended media coverage.

"Once we hit 2010, our schedule will be super full and we’re working hard to get into some new clubs in new cities," said Debbie.
