Interview with Nikki Forova: "Skylines in the Sunlight"

Nikki Forova is a Pop singer/songwriter that compares to the likes of Vanessa Carlton, Imogen Heap, Tori Amos, and Regina Spektor.

In October of 2010, Nikki entered and won the MTV Duets contest out of thousands of entries. After a private visit from a representative of MTV, Nikki was flown out to New York for a rare opportunity engagement to perform the song, “A Thousand Miles” with Vanessa Carlton herself and was aired on MTV television show, "MTV Duets".

Originally from her home country of Ukraine, she grew up during a time of change when her country was at war. During the division of Ukraine from the former Soviet Union, Nikki grew up during these hard times, but her family was her solace. They were a family of entertainers. Of being a family of entertainers, she was able to have a happy life.

Setting her sights on a music career, Nikki moved to Los Angeles where she obtained a degree in Music Composition and she even composed her first commercial composition for a Looney Toons video game and she scored several short films. Although, she wants to eventually compose again, he passion is performing as a singer in front of a piano.

Her craftsmanship on the piano is more than just elegant. Songs like “Sky Writer” and “Revving Wings” grasp that inner feeling of intense emotion. The combination of Nikki’s powerful vocals serene musical melody, especially in “After Today” and “Little Green Piece of Life” capture such intense feelings of incredible beauty, that it feels like falling in love. That’s putting it lightly.

Music like this is very powerful and every song from the Revving Wings CD is worth owning.
