AIM: How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?
Miss Quantum: My background was tough and a challenging process that is likely identifiable with many people; Full of hopes, dreams, trials, struggles & much error. I was surrounded by naysayers who gave up on their own dreams and did their best to try to make me believe that my dreams were foolish, or that I was too stupid. When I was a little girl, my dream was to become a professional ballerina and Miss Universe. I wanted to help humans (and animals) with upward mobility. I was told I 'can't' be Miss Universe because I 'couldn't qualify like those girls who are models and go to expensive universities'. Fast forwarding, I dreamed for the good and have worked 60-80 a week over the last few years for better, and continue to do so. I am now Miss Universe, per se, and the only one person who can take away my crown is me!
AIM: Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?
Miss Quantum: Those individuals would be Margaret Cavendish, also known as "Mad Madge", the Duchess of Newcastle and also, Oprah. Both strong women continue to inspire me creatively to keep thinking bigger outlandish feats that benefit humanity.
AIM: What inspires you?
Miss Quantum: Seizing change and creating solutions. Empowering people. I'm a solid backer of the power of one; One person, one genuine action, can have a ripple effect to make an exceptional difference. Amazing things are able to be achieved in the face of incredible odds.
AIM: What's a productivity tip you swear by?
Miss Quantum: Setting insane goals and make them happen. This has been essential to getting Miss Quantum off the ground. Even more so, in taking it to the next level. Setting and tackling them is extremely intimidating, but it motivates you to work harder and to set even bigger goals.
AIM: Which books motivate you to be an entrepreneur?
Miss Quantum: None. I feel the best motivation comes from your own goals and ideas. Books tend to point you into thinking a certain way, while entrepreneurs need to think with determination and critical thought outside of boundaries.
AIM: What's your greatest fear?
Miss Quantum: I don't have a greatest fear. I feel it to be counterproductive to hold on to imaginary situations and not at all conducive to mastering the mind. I'm not into 'should'ing' all over myself, if you get what I mean.
AIM: What keeps you going when things get tough?
Miss Quantum: When things may begin to feel tough for me that's when I know I need to take a step back to take a quick, brutally honest look into myself and examine why I am feeling how I might be. I've a strategic mindset and keep the flaps of my mind open. Also, I'm an adrenaline junkie when it comes to being built up in the flames, which helps a lot.
AIM: Looking back, what's one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started? Miss Quantum: Launch before you feel ready. Don't wait until it feels perfect or the delay will give you more irrational reasons and excuses to wait. Time is extremely valuable. Business ideas alone are worth very little and you must execute.
AIM: Do you think mindset has anything to do with success?
Miss Quantum: Absolutely. Most of the battle in building a brand is mind expansion ---expanding skills and learning to be flexible and patient in-between failures, setbacks, and going up against the flack. You have to just not care about criticism, insults, etc. because that shade will always be there and increases in intensity the higher you go. Confidence is vital.
AIM: What are some main barriers that young people face to become an entrepreneur today?
Miss Quantum: To toughen up their minds and to replace their wishbone with a backbone. I feel that young, potential entrepreneurs mainly need more commitment to their own commitments and need to understand they must be resourceful to succeed --and to outsource. Tomorrow is created on todays youth.
AIM: Any message for our readers...
Miss Quantum: Make sure you really love what you do because no one else is going to. Above all, do not give up, have patience --keep going. Kick butt!
