AIMA Season IV Submission Window is Closing and Awards Ceremony Update

The Final submission date to enter Season IV of the Artists In Music Awards is November 15, 2014 at Midnight. If you have not become a member and submitted, there is still plenty of time.

For more information and to find your category go to http://www.aimusicawards.com/#!vote/c60z

We have several categories in Music, Film, Poetry, Literature, Photography, and Theatre. If your category is not represented, please let us know. We may add it.

Behind the Scenes

If you have been apart of AIMA at all during the past 3 seasons, you may have noticed that we are doing less live shows during the year. Now that we are under the Siqueiros Foundation of the Arts, the Artists In Music Awards has scaled back on the monthly shows, but we are very much still active. We do plan on continuing the live show tradition in Season V and reintroducing the Summer Showcase and the Breakthrough Series.

As of today, we are behind the scenes hard at work and focusing on the final stages of obtaining our 501c3 charity organizational license. In the meantime, the Executive Board of Directors have been diligently attending Community events, shaking hands with State and City leaders by attending political events, and appearing at various Art & Music shows in and around Los Angeles as part of our awareness campaign.

Awards Ceremony

As of today, we are unable to reveal the official location of the Awards Ceremony, but we will very soon. The Awards Ceremony is still scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2015 and it will be held in Los Angeles. Once we have the “go-ahead” we will send out a Press Release to make the HUGE announcement.

For the main event, we are doing something never done before - show full-length films, have live performances, and exhibit Art during a televised event. At the present moment, we are looking for Full-Length Films, Short films, and Documentary’s. As mentioned previously, we will have an exhibit area to showcase Artwork, so we are looking for Nominees from the Visual Arts arena. Of course, we are also looking for live music performers for the main stage to perform in between the trophy presentations. If you are a member and you have something unique to offer, please email us.

Once we make the location announcement, we will begin selling tickets to attend the main event.

FYI: Anyone can become a member. As a member, you can nominate yourself, a band, or any single artist, actor, etc. You are also welcome to nominate someone for Lifetime Achievement, Educator of the Year, etc. We simply ask that if you nominate someone for an award, your participant is aware they must be present during the awards ceremony as we have a strict attendance policy - We do not award absentees.

To join and submit, go to http://www.aimusicawards.com/#!submit

The final submission date is NOVEMBER 15, 2015.

Stay tuned for more information COMING SOON!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- On July 5th, two of the hottest Artists In Music Awards and most recognized recording artists will take the stage at newly remodeled Black Rose Tavern (formerly The Joint). About the Artists In Music Awards
Established in 2011, the Artists In Music Awards was originally created to honor and recognize the most talented and gifted artists.

Over the years, this tradition has evolved beyond the recognition of a singular art form with a desire to encompass all areas of Arts & Entertainment.

On April 28, 2014, Artists In Music Awards joined forces with the Siqueiros Foundation of the Arts. SFOTA is a non-profit organization with two goals in mind - the dedication to empowering creative youth by providing scholarship opportunities to underprivileged children and providing an avenue to explore and express the arts through unity and community involvement. SOFTA is also dedicated to creating jobs for out of work artists using Federal aid through the resurrection of the Federal Art Project (FAP), a program with a focus on putting Artists back to work, but disappeared after the end of the Depression Era in 1943.

Now under the Siqueiros Foundation of the Arts, this is not only a new chapter for the Artists In Music Awards, but an exciting opportunity for all artists to be apart of.

As a member of the AIMA and SFOTA comes with special privileges including exclusive access to special events, FREE awards submissions, workshops, discounts on premiere affiliated art exhibits and award events, plus voting privileges on AIMA categories.

ABOUT GLITTER ROSE:
Glitter Rose’s music is breaking ground as the new sound of Southern Rock meets Country. Then in November, Glitter was honored at the 23rd Annual Los Angeles Music Awards when she took home the award for Country Artist of the Year. Glitter took home four additional awards for Artist of the Year, Performer of the Year, Best Southern Rock Artist, and Best Music Video at the 3rd Annual Artists In Music Awards held at Jon Lovitz Theatre in Hollywood, CA on Friday, February 7, 2014.

A Successful 3rd Annual Artists In Music Awards is Now on the Books

Glitter Rose performs at AIMA Awards Ceremony
What a most incredible night on February 7 at Jon Lovitz Theatre for the 3rd Annual Artists In Music Awards! There were so many amazing artists that were recognized under the lights. With over 700 people in attendance, there were some of the most incredible performances. The buzz of the night was Glitter Rose and BP Major.

Glitter Rose not only performed her two famous songs, "American Girl" and "Kody Was a Killer," but  she walked away with four awards for Best Southern Rock Artist, Best Music Video for "Buda Negra" directed by Amy Campione, and Performer of the Year, but she also captured AIMA's top honor for Artist of the Year, which makes Glitter the most winningest artist in Artists In Music Awards history. Glitter Rose now holds six AIMA award titles.

BP Major performing at the AIMA Awards Ceremony
BP Major put on a jaw dropping performance. If you were expecting to see half naked men on stage, that's exactly what you got. No one was expecting five men in revealing green tights to be dancing on stage. BP Major also walked away with the award for Best Dance Artist.

What is most surprising is this year was the largest attendance of Nominees. Almost every nominee in each of the 30 categories were there at the awards ceremony on Friday. It was so great to see so many familiar faces and so many new faces as well.

There are so many artists to mention about the night. Cheating Daylight opened the show in high gear with a stellar performance. Congratulations to this young band of brothers for winning Best Rock Artist. They are definitely an artist to keep an eye on. One of the performers for the evening was Walla. Walla came away big with two awards for Best Alternative Artist and Best Indie Artist. A big congratulations to Walla. They are now a 3-time AIMA award winners. Another artist that walked away with multiple awards was 2013 Best Folk/Acoustic Artist winner, Soren Bryce. Soren swept both her categories to win Best Singer Songwriter and she defended her title to win Best Folk/Acoustic Artist for a second year in a row. Other repeat winners included Trevor Sewell for Best Blues Artist. Melanie Taylor put on a sensational performance and took home the Best Pop Artist trophy. Melanie is now a two-time AIMA winner.

The Como Brothers band came all the way from Long Island, New York and took home two of the highest honors including Composer of the Year and Album of the Year for "Baby Steps". Torrey Mercer also came away big with two awards including Best Teen Artist and Inspirational Artist of the Year for her work in Anti-bullying with kids.

One notable winner is Mark Lamdanski of Twitter Tuesday LIVE. He flew out to Los Angeles from Hollywood, Florida to broadcast the Awards Ceremony live on simulcast to seven radio stations across the country. Mark went on stage to introduce Host Nic Creznic, instead he was awarded the Best Independent Radio Show for Twitter Tuesday LIVE on World Wide Indie Radio. We also rebroadcasted the "Alan Freed Award" for Lifetime Achievement that was given to 1998 Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, career actress, and last surviving member of The Mamas and the Papas, Michelle Phillips.

Mikey Jayy the leader of “Artists in Music Awards” is what music and the people of Los Angeles and beyond need. Plus I love hanging out with music lovers and just getting to know them and laughing in a limo is pretty cool. Dinner is not bad either.” - Travis Szendrei (MK Ultra)

2014 Artists In Music Awards Voting Polls are Now Open

Alrighty Kids!

Summer is upon us and in case you aren’t aware, the voting polls for the 3rd Annual Artists In Music Awards are NOW open (see below), so if you’re an artist and your name is not listed, we are still accepting award nomination applications.

NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS AT:
www.aimusicawards.com
 and
Music Xray

JUDGES

Voting for the professional judges panel will commence beginning November 1, 2013. The list of Final Nominees will be announced during a special Red Carpet Nomination Event in December 2013 (date and location TBA). The voting polls will reopen to the public to help determine who will win each of the 30 categories in February 2014 (date and location TBA).

The sooner you enter, the greater are your chances of winning an award in one of our 30 categories.

FAN VOTES MATTER

During the past two years, we have witnessed several artists that were not happy with the results. Some didn't win because they waited too long to submit. Some artists submitted early, but they saw no need to promote themselves to get those all important fan votes and it dramatically affected the results. While we do have an experienced panel of judges, only 50% of the results are weighed in by their decision. The other 50% is weighed on the number of fan votes. This was a fair way to measure not only an artist’s technical and vocal talent, but it was necessary to include the artist’s popularity.
