The new single made by Greg Hoy & The Boys “Leaving While You Stay” has been finally released over  many sources and made into a music video on Youtube! The song is basically a combination of original hard rock and not just a recycled sound spread over many repetitive songs. The song consists of Greg Hoy’s vocals along with the spontaneous and welcoming sound of his guitar. As well as, The direction of Carissa Johnson supplies this song with clear cohesion and a sound that will leave most people wanting more. Dennis Galway delivers the perfect beat with his exquisite drum skills and with Mark Nichoson completing the package with master bass skills. The song depicts a “certain” person tweeting away while their nation crumbles apart due to leadership. For instance, the song states “Fight for love or Fight for glory?” which symbolizes the confusion in which this “certain” person is heading. This song also utilizes excellent visuals that match the overall grove mood of the song. It makes the song seem like a comic book life right now in the pandemic. 

Who are Greg Hoy & The Boys? Greg Hoy isn’t only some guy in a band-he is many things like a label record owner to an astounding “marketing guru”. Greg Hoy was inspired by the fact that music and sound can convey such richness and emotions. This is prominent when Greg Hoy himself states, “Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” on headphones at the behest of his big brother. “I was immediately drawn to the richness of the sound, and the idea that you could manipulate emotions with sound—like a certain fuzzed out guitar and drum beat could make you feel a certain way.” This truly explains his love of music and it paves the roadway while also making it clear that he will later lead on with the music industry. Greg Hoy & The Boys focus on multiple themes like being a middle-aged man in the middle of a new technological future. Featuring "The Shadow" by Pressure

This weeks All Indie Magazine feature song is, "The Shadow" by the band Pressure. Pressure is a Swedish Melodic Rock band from Stockholm. Released on July 16th, "The Shadow" is the band's third single. Their first English release after two prior released in their native Swedish language. The band consists of Simon (guitar), Emil (guitar) and Olof (vocals). The song talks about always being connected to your shadow.

With band leader and guitarist Simon Siirpo Forsell at the helm, vocalist Olof Jönsson and guitarist Emil Salling lead everyday people around the world to overcome and embrace the pressures felt from everyday existence. Their lyrics famously show that there are two sides to every story - the good and the bad. Every song has a double meaning.

The band began with Forsell and Salling creating Swedish metal covers of popular songs like “Chandelier” by Sia and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”. When Jönsson joined the band in 2018, new songs were adjusted for his voice and gave way to the unique Skanian dialect you hear in the original tunes you hear today.

In 2020 the band release their first Swedish singles and are translating each song to English, ready for world domination.

Review: Srdjan Brankovic’s Expedition Delta II

A supergroup has re-formed and released a new record: ‘Expedition Delta 2.’ This project, the brain-child of Srdjan Brankovic is: Expedition Delta who has been an entity since 2008 when the predecessor of ‘Expedition 2’ was released.



Expedition Delta was lauded in the Serbian scene and landed some notable gigs. Since 2008, the outfit has released music here and there, but hasn’t actually committed to a full length return - until now. Thus, ‘Expedition 2’ is essentially a record eight years in the queue.

It calls upon the talent of a huge variety of artists to craft its sonic landscapes on ‘Expedition 2.’ For the sake of this review, we’ll shine our gaze particularly onto Brankovic, who performs lead guitar and songwriting duties, and Nikola Mijic, the lead vocalist, an high-octaves singer, similar to a mix between Geddy Lee and Axl Rose. The dynamic between the two (Brankovic-Mijic) is lovely, and they’re the primary catalysts for making ‘Expedition 2’ the infectiously fun experience that it is.

‘Expedition 2’ opens with‘ Spectacular’ a track that sets an interesting tone for the album. It’s explosive, anthemic, and surprisingly versatile as Brankovic dances about a synth-soaked soundscape with a powerhouse lead guitar performance. There’s a ‘vintage’ feel to Expedition Delta’s music - something that’s noticeable right out of the gate. ‘Spectacular’ is a track that sounds like it’s mixed the best of arena rock from the80s together. (Think Rush or the like.) Also people who enjoy the likes of Rush, Poison, Van Halen, and acts akin to them, are probably going to love Expedition

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that the veteran indie label Perris Records is the house that Expedition Delta has signed with for this release.

This is important, because it’s a great example of a label and band being perfect for one another. Perris specializes in rock and roll with an 80s twist. Having a label the power of that niche will likely aid Expedition Delta very well with this project. ‘Fly With Me’ offers some female duets with Mijic, which adds some diversity to the vocal space of the album. It’s a feel-good rock and roller. Instrumentally, I’d argue that Brankovic’s compositions do a spectacular job. I mean: just because it’s thunderous80s-esque rock and roll doesn’t mean that the instrumentation is simplistic.

Nay, the performances are intensely complicated!

One of my favorite tracks on the endeavor is ‘Canis Major,’ a classical piano interlude near the halfway point on the record. It’s only a minute long, but goodness, it’s breathtaking!

After it, there is a lead vocal switch to the aforementioned female vocalist who is Andjela Isic. Isic is a beautiful vocalist, and I’d argue ‘Without You’ the first track with her at the forefront, is served stunningly by her. ‘The One Who Lives a Dream’ is a bizarre, charismatic track. I’d go as far to argue that there is a deep-seated ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ influence somewhere in the track.

‘House of God’ takes the vocal experimentation even further, and succeeds in doing so. I love that the album takes liberties in that department.

‘I Don’t Believe’ is probably another one of my fav on the album, offering a glimpse into Brankovic’s talent as a tactful songwriter. The track is followed by ‘Remember You,’ that is: another highlight of the album. The subject matter and 80s infused sound makes the track reminiscent of the 1985 track,’ I’ll Remember You,’ by Bob Dylan.

‘Connected’ is the final piece of ‘Expedition 2,’ and it’s essentially a pure statement of instrumental rock and roll. Brankovic flies through the track with unbelievable power, making it a lovely closer to an awesome album.

That’s exactly what ‘Expedition 2’ is, too.

It’s a fun album. It’s a good time. It’s amazing talent. There may not be enough of that nowadays. (D.S.)

Interview with The Ries Brothers

Tell us about your music. What and who does your music sound like?

Rise Brothers - Our music is a blend of Rock, Alternative, Pop, Blues, Funk and Reggae. We love to blend different genres together to create a new and unique sound. As far as similar artists, I’d say we sound like a cross between The Black Keys, John Mayer, Sublime, and Ed Sheeran.

What do you want people to take from your music when they listen to you?

Rise Brothers - We just want people to have a good time listening, have something to move to, and really feel something special. Music allows us to release complex emotions and we want the same for our audience. We want a genuine reaction of feeling from our music and give our listeners something to relate to and something to make them happy, help them through tough times, have a good cry if they need one, and just really make them feel something.

What influenced you guys to become recording artists?

Rise Brothers - We’ve always been interested in music from a young age, but mostly just as a hobby early on. After our dad introduced us to the Beatles we became more and more interested in the writing and performing processes. We used to both play competitive baseball for most of our lives until that point, but pretty soon, after school, instead of going out to play baseball, we were picking up instruments and playing for hours. We played for different bands around town, but realized the best way to really go for it was to form a band ourselves, since we’re brothers and could practice whenever we wanted. I (Charlie) taught myself to play bass lines on a keyboard with my left hand, drum with my right, and sing at the same time to fill in our sound. Once we had some material, we went out and started playing local shows. We’ve played over 500 shows since and haven’t looked back!

In your young careers, you’ve performed with some of the most recognizable names in music. What is it like being surrounded with so many legends?

Rise Brothers - It’s been incredible, in particular, the legendary band, Chicago! They were extremely kind and supportive of us while we were on tour with them. They offered amazing life and career advice and the legendary Robert Lamm even complimented my multi-instrumentalist style and said he couldn’t figure out how I was doing it! That was amazing to hear from such a legend!!

What song seems to be your fan favorite right now?

Rise Brothers - I’m so happy to say there’s a few right now! “Lockdown” is our big sing-along, and we always close our sets with that one. But other ones that are resonating with fans because of the lyrics and messages are “Run To The Sea”, “Road Map”, and “On and On.”

What is on the horizon for The Ries Brothers? What can fans expect from you in the coming months?

A Future Classic: Interview with Brandon Jeffries

Brandon Jeffries is a Songwriter and Cover Artist from Northeastern North Carolina. He has been described as having a gritty, southern style that adds a natural, raw sounding flavor to anything he performs. With heavy roots in various genres of Rock and Country music, his style appeals to a wide range of listeners and age groups. If you happen to be looking for a casual night out with good people and quality acoustic music, then Brandon Jeffries is a “Must See” performer.

Tell us about yourself. What made you decide to become a Singer Songwriter? Where did the inspiration come from and what or who lured you into becoming an artist yourself?

Brandon: I started playing music at the age of 14. My father was in a cover band. I would see him every other week or so as a kid. He always tried to get me to play, but in middle school I finally picked it up. Through the years, music has always been something I find myself coming back too. I was a natural and, no matter what, I find myself using music to pass the time, or to vent. It’s just in my bones, if you will. I find everything about music absolutely amazing. Music, in itself, is like a spirit; like the wind. You can’t touch it, but it can touch you. You can’t see it, but it’s presence is experienced.

If you are asking about influences... I listen to just about everything. Depending on my mood or setting. That is another wonderful thing about music. Each song and artist is like a seasoning on a pallet of flavor, certain music for breakfast, and specific tunes in the evening to unwind. I really do mean “...just about everything”. I’ll put on John Meyer in the morning and by lunch I’m listening to Queen. There was a phase were I was heavy into Sinatra, and I still listen to him occasionally has I cook dinner. I grew up in the 90’s, so there is a heavy influence there as well. Green Day, Weezer, Third Eye Blind, Matchbox Twenty, etc..

I prefer the title of songwriter because these days you have to be more than just an “Artist”. In fact, the word “Artist” in some musical circles has become synonymous with the term “talking head”. It takes much more to make it, and you can’t just be a face. You have to write, engineer, produce, finance, and plan everything yourself. I feel like keeping my title as “songwriter” gives a little more credit than the average “Artist”. Especially with how the Pop side of things are run these days. On the same note, sticking with “songwriter” allows me to venture into writing for other genres. Which is something else that I enjoy doing. It helps not to box me in, or define my image to one scene or genre. I feel like, even with society in general, there are too many labels and boxes that we put each other in. Whether it be race, financial status, sexual preference, whatever. Why all the labels. Let’s just play tunes and prosper!

What song of yours do you think represents you the best?

Brandon: I would say “Everything”. Hah! That could get confusing. That song is probably my favorite to play live, and it’s SOOO catchy! My back ground is heavy in Country and Rock music, and I can hear both of those in that track. It’s gotten great reviews too!

You mentioned that you do cover songs as well. What's your favorite song to cover?

Brandon: Oooh! That’s a good one! Im really not sure. I think I go through phases. One month I will play the heck out of one song, and then a week later, there is another one on repeat. I would say at the moment, it’s a toss-up between three,

If at all, what artists do you like and admire today?

Brandon: There are SOOO many artists that inspire me these days. There are hundreds of people, just like me, trying to do this and make it on their own. First and foremost, THOSE are the people I look up too. We get a lot of ideas from each other, and it really takes a team to make it in this industry. There a few Independents that I really admire these days though, as well; such as Allen Stone, Hooray for The Riff Raff, ZZ Ward, and a few others. Too many to name them all really.

If you could perform and share the stage with any artist (living or dead), who would it be?

Brandon: Oh man, these questions are hittin’ hard! That is another really tough one to answer on the spot. If I had to narrow it down to sharing the stage, I would want in to be a JAM! Like really funk it out. I know my latest EP is heavy in the “Alt Rock” genre, but I have a long history with an acoustic guitar. I think I would like to rock it with Dave Matthews. That would probably the most rad gig I could imagine.

You've been an artist for a few years now. What has been your toughest challenge as a solo artist?

Brandon: The hardest part being an independent/solo artist is figuring out what to do. There really are no rules the game, and as an independent/solo artist, there is no one to lead you by the hand and tell you what to do. It’s very easy to waste time, and/or invest in the wrong assets too early or too late. On top of that, in the industry today, you have to more than one task. Specialization is for insects. Like I said above, “You have to write, engineer, produce, finance, and plan everything yourself.”. It’s so much work, sometimes just figuring out where to start is the hardest part. I would say the most important step is getting your original repertoire up, and getting a solid ear for recording. Those are huge assets.

This is a two-part question. It appears you've had some recent success. You're No. 1 on Reverbnation. You've had a lot of good attention from the press and your fans seem to be pretty supportive. What do you think is the secret to your success? What do you feel like you're lacking in and want to make improvements on in the near future as an independent musician?

Brandon: I would say the biggest key to my recent success is the support of the fans. Without them, I would be nowhere. Their streams and plays help keep me trending, and that’s only a good thing. It was because of the fans that I got the chance to put together this rockin’ EP, and it’s because of the fans that I will continue to work hard, not only to make even better music, but to help improve the life of everyone I come across, as best I can.

As far as where I am lacking.. Hmmm. My ego doesn’t like to think that I’m lacking anything haha. I would say, at the moment my biggest setback is not travelling enough. In my defense, I have been a little spent (financially) since recording this year, and I am just now getting back into regular gigging. I really wanna get back to California. I have a nice bunch of fans there. I plan to hit a lot of places at the start of 2016. For the holidays, I will be playing a few coffee shops, and staying close to family in the Norfolk, VA area.

What is in store for Brandon Jeffries? A new music video? A new EP? A tour perhaps?

Brandon: Well! The EP just released, so I am working on A TON of stuff. I have a “Tunes in the Terminal Tour” coming up. I’ll be in airports performing from Atlanta, to Chicago, to San Fran. For the next couple months, you can find me in Norfolk or Virginia Beach, VA playing some casual/intimate entertainment gigs at coffee shops. Also, my record label (The Uther Geis), is putting together a string of events for a tour where we team up with local artists and businesses and do a really, really fun event with wine and give aways. Oh, I get excited, but I don’t want to give away too many details on that just yet. Just keep your eyes out for a “The Uther Geis Presents:” event! See you on tour!

Nowhere to Run: Interivew with The Polaris

The four piece alt-rock band hails from Coventry in the UK. What began as four friends getting
together to play some tunes resulted in a solid lineup of musicians who are able to use their own experiences and emotions to write songs that come together perfectly. The Polaris style is a seemingly larger than life anthemic sound comprised of solid grooves fronted with ear catching melodies. It is not easy to capture emotions on a record without somehow seeming fake but these guys have done it.

Where are the four of you from?

The Polaris: We are a Coventry Band, Midlands UK. We all live here and originally born here except for Stew who is from Lancaster.

Tell us about the name. How did you guys come up with the name "The Polaris"? It has nothing to do with that weird looking sports car, does it?

The Polaris: Haha no nothing to do with the sports car or the old nuclear submarine which is sometimes asked, but it’s the name of the North Star. Stew and Dan had come out of a pub a little drunk and being all philosophical Stew mentioned he knew a little about Stars and named the North star ‘The Polaris’ and they both said that would be a good band Name, and that stuck. Though we sometimes think Stew planned it as he is Northern and wants to be a star.

Influences. What influenced you guys to get into music and who are your favorite artists?

The Polaris: Anything with guitars is a winner! But individually we are all so different in what we separately listen to, Ewan is a metal head, Gaz… well were not really sure, but if its weird and arty, then that’s him. Dan is kind of Chart ‘Rock’ and Stew is pretty much into anything from Cheese Pop, to Classical to Punk, with some Michael Jackson thrown in.

If you could perform with any artist (living or dead), who would you share the stage with?

The Polaris: A tough one, but because this band got us started in a strange way. It would have to be Flickerstick. Stew actually has the artwork from Welcome Home the Astronauts album tattooed on his wrist. But it was watching the TV show Bands On The Run that got Stew wanting to play in a band and discuss it with Dan. So it would be them.

What is your latest single and tell us about the song. What was the inspiration behind the song?

The Polaris: Our next single to be out later this year will be ‘Hey Hey’ and it’s a song about basically being played by a girl. Being led on and making the mistake to believe her again and again. Stew is unlucky in love, makes good emotional writing from it though.

What do you guys enjoy doing when you're not writing music and performing?

The Polaris: Well Three of us Stew, Dan and Ewan are actually into Ice Hockey and work with the local Team In Coventry - Coventry Blaze. Strangely enough Stew and Ewan do the Music for it. Apart from that it’s the usual work life balance and getting together to Play HALO on the XBOX

Most people have different tastes in food, but what is it that you can all agree to eat together?

The Polaris: Easy! Pizza - Nothing Fancy, some form of meat pizza is all good for us.

You've been performing a lot around your region of the world. What is the plan for the rest of 2015 and looking forward into 2016 for The Polaris?

The Polaris: We are ending this year with another short tour hitting Birmingham and London and then a Christmas one back home in Coventry for the release of the Single and then we finish our EP for release in early 2016

Texas rocker Glitter Rose releases music video for "Hollywood Rain"

8-time award winner Glitter Rose does it again with the release of "Hollywood Rain," the first single from the upcoming album Outlaw In Love.

Cue the Mike: Interview with Goodpace

Goodpace eclectic approach and high-octane performances borrow from the vast vernacular of
contemporary music, echoing artists as diverse as Uncle Kracker, Kid Rock, The Transplants, The Ramones or Yelawolf, just to mention a few.

His sound is all about connecting with listeners through a release of energy that breaks genre boundaries, uplifting melodies and a thought-provoking lyrical flow.

Interview with Mike of Goodpace

How did music start for you?

Mike: I wrote my first song when I was a freshmen in High School. I always had a passion to write.

You have a sound that is close to Uncle Kracker to Kid Rock. Are these the artists you grew up emulating?

Mike: No. I loved The Ramones, Pantera, and Beastie Boys.

Who else had an influence on you?

Mike: I loved old Van Halen with David Lee Roth, because there was so much energy and charisma in their music.

How did Hip Hop come to play and was it a major influence on your music?

Mike: Not a major influence, but it was easier to work with producers when I first started writing. You need less musicians when you do Hip Hop.

If you could perform with any major recording artist, who would you pick?

Mike: 20 years ago my first pick would have been 311, but right now it might be Zac Brown or a part of some sort of palooza.

What comes first for you, the music or the lyrics?

Mike: No real methodology…it’s the mood more than anything. I’ve been writing lyrics for years. Believe it or not I sorta wing it with the music. What is the song writing process for you? I start with my acoustic. I play until I find a groove I like…just a simple rhythm. Then I hum a melody and start piecing together the puzzle.

Tell us about the name Goodpace? How did you come up with that name?

Mike: I wanted to start a business a few years ago and while discussing with my dad he said “You have to find good people that can keep a good pace”. I named my business Goodpace. When I formed the corporation I changed the name of the business. I kept the name Goodpace as an artist name, because I owned it.

What is in store for Goodpace? What can fans expect from you in the coming year?

Mike: I released 35 songs in the past 40 days and I have 5 more songs on the table for this year. Most of my library is free to download on Amazon mp3 or easier to find on my website cuethemike.com. I have some much needed down coming in July and being an independent artist I have to go to work and make a living.

Their new album Elegia Balcanica is out now in Serbia and it’s scheduled to be released worldwide in 2015 Expedition Delta: International supergroup born as a project from Srdjan Brankovic, one of the founders of AlogiA. Srdjan is working and has worked as a guitarist, songwriter, producer in many other important Serbian bands such as Psychoparadox, Hexagram, Draconic, Numenor, Lunar Pocket, Despot... besides AlogiA and Expedition Delta, of course! The music of Expedition Delta is a mixture of Melodic Rock (AOR) and Progressive Rock, with the elements and influences of modern music merged into many atmospheric parts.

The whole album is leaded by the great voice of Nikola Mijic, with some very special guests who duet with him. Together with Srdjan Brankovic, many famous and great musicians have been involved into this project, in the past: Gary Werhkamp (Shadow Gallery), Andrea De Paoli (Labyrinth), Erik Norlander, Rene Mekelbach (Ayreon), Richard Andersson, Joost Van der Broek, Sabine Edelsbacher (Edenbridge), Borislav Mitic, Vivien Lalu, Alex Argento (Orianthi), Mikkel Henderson (Fate, Evil Masquerade, Circus Mind), Saska Jankovic, Milos Kovacevic, Torsten Rohere (Silent Force), Santiago Dobles (Aghora)…. Bluerose; They have released 2 albums so far: Fallen From Heaven, their very first AOR album, has been released first as an indie record and then re-published by Areasonica Records and Blue Tattoo Music. It has achieved numerous notable reviews from all the metal movement. Fallen from Heaven is a concept album which tells the story, through 10 tracks + 8 interludes, of an Angel named Bluerose, who has fallen on Earth, describing his emotions during this journey. The emotions felt are those of a human during his whole life. The second release, called Darkness and Light, is now available on digital stores and is produced by Areasonica Records and Bluerose, and distributed in all CD shops in Italy. It contains 8 new fresh and powerful tracks, alternating the Bluerose rock style with more metallish guitars and superb vocals. Rearth, is a prog/rock/metal band from Udine born from the brainchild of Fabio Tomasino (guitars) and Simone Paoloni (vocals).

The duo originally started to play into a thrash metal band; then decided to begin a more personal project mixing different musical genres. The main thought was to enhance the music with the emotions of the lyrics. In 2011 they released the first demo Pure and Simple. Self produced, registered, mixed and mastered by Fabio Tomasino (Artwork by Simone Paoloni) In 2013 it was time for their first album For My Dreams I Fall, self-produced, registered, mixed and mastered by Fabio Tomasino again.

Immediately the band established itself adding Jacopo Novello on bass, Sara Rainone on vocals, and Emanuele Stefanutti on drums

Warfare: The band was born in the early 2007 in Udine, from musicians coming several musical
experiences. In 2009 they released a first album: The Revenge, recorded by Riccardo Asquini at Saojo Studios. The Revenge gained great response from the audience, that allowed to the band to pursue an intense live activity in the following years, including a performance as opening act for Extrema. On December 2011, the band came back to the studio to record the 2nd chapter , an EP called Drops of Cold Flowing, recorded at the Golden room Studios by Giacomo Barboni. The EP represents Warfare style: the Neoclassical Groove metal, a groovy modern metal influenced by the melodies of classical music. In July 2014 the band , being the winner of the Up to Down contest, has been chosen as opening act for Down of Phil Anselmo in front of thousand people.

Album Review: Turning Points by Oren Yaacoby

There seem to be very few musicians that can truly be said to defy genre boundaries, and the ones that do are often, for better or for worse, labeled as “session musicians”, a term that is, sadly, all too often taken to mean someone lacking in musical personality or vision. Oren Yaacoby is perhaps the very definition of someone who proves how misguided this attitude is, and his debut album, Turning Points, is a case in point.

 A quick online search reveals that Oren has an incredibly rich and versatile background. When first perusing the internet to hear more of this incredible artist's work, I had to double check that all the mentions of “Oren Yaacoby” where in fact talking of the same person. On the one had, his work has included playing lead guitar for the by-now-legendary Missing in Action, an Israeli Metal-Core band that came into prominence with their first performance at the 2010 Wacken Open Air Festival, alongside Slayer and Iron Maiden. Yet he has also played in a huge variety of other settings, including The Paintbrush Orchestra (a free jazz influenced Soundpainting ensemble based out of Boston), and recording for several major T.V series and movies (most notably CBS's The Crazy Ones and Fox's Enlisted), as well as a myriad of other jazz ensembles.

Yet perhaps whats most amazing about Oren's playing in all of these different settings is that he does what so few manage to do - to play in manner that is faithful and true to a genre, while always maintaining that honest personal tinge that makes a performance truly great. Nothing I have heard from his vast catalog has in any shape of form felt disingenuous or forced, yet it has all managed to sound like the same person is playing with the same level of care and craftsmanship. That is truly no small feat and the mark of a true artist.

It should come as no surprise, then, that Oren Yaacoby's debut album, Turning Points, hardly feels like a debut album at all. Rather, what we are hearing here is a fully formed, mature artist at his finest. The five tracks all feel like the work of a veteran songwriter, and every aspect of this album, be it the lyrics, the incredible showmanship of guitar technicality (more on that later), or the refined production, hints at an magnum opus that will hold up after many repeated listens. The opening track, “The Alchemist” is a beautiful and personal ode to the craft of music itself, and sets a reverent mood for the entire album, which remains strong even through moments of intense energy and complex guitar lines, such as the almost progressive “Truth on the Outside”, a teeth-grinding, keeps-you-at-the-edge-of-your-seat tour de force. Also worthy of note is Oren's vocal work, which is strong and poignant through-out.

I would be amiss to write anything about Turning Points or any of Oren Yaacoby' work without
mentioning the incredible level of technical guitar mastery. And while that is usually hardly something worth mentioning in an album review, in this case, it feels like a beautiful and integral part of the music itself. Rather than feeling like a stale display of technic, as can often happen when one reaches this level of familiarity with an instrument, one gets the feeling that we are hearing an artist push himself to the limit of what he can do, trying to find something new and beautiful. The incredibly fast, complex and clean guitar work on the album is absolutely flooring, but somehow manages to always remain exciting and musically relevant.

This is one album that is not to be missed, certainly one of the freshest and most exciting releases to come out this year. I know I will be talking about it to pretty much everyone I know, and I wouldn't be surprised if very soon you will be too.

Interview with Robert Marlow: Sex, Drugs, and Rock N Roll

Robert Marlow is a Scottish musician that has fused Rock, metal, punk, and garage rock into a sound that captures the energy and vitality of the great rock music of the sixties and seventies and makes it sound brand new. Great songwriters write about what they know and Robert Marlow knows about sex, drugs and rock n roll, wild times, and one night stands. The songs take you on a pulsating, sensual and erotic adrenaline filled ride in the red light district and sweaty smoke filled temples of rock n roll where bodies dance and twist in the half-light. Nothing is genteel or sensitive about this riff packed music that is delivered in the playpen of debauchery and decadence. Blistering micro-anthems embodying that basic Rock and Roll steamroller aesthetic . This is rock and roll!

Interview with Robert Marlow

Robert, great to have you on All Indie Magazine. So, let's talk about your music. I find that there's a lot of sexual innuendo with lots of half-naked women in each of your videos. You don't "beat around the bush", do you? Who directed the videos?

Robert Marlow: Actually I do beat around the bush, that is why I write about sexual relationships. Rock n Roll was originally a slang term used in the 1950s referring to sexual intercourse. I believe good rock music comes from the crotch and hopefully that's where people feel it when they listen to my music. I created all the videos. All the videos are my favorite because the video I work on at the time is my favorite video. Yes the videos are full of beautiful half naked women, that's because I would rather watch a pretty girl dancing than any musician performing their song.

What was your favorite music era? Let me guess - the 80s, the quintessential "Sex, Drugs, and Rock N' Roll era?

Robert Marlow: No, my favorite era is the 60s and 70s, you can't beat Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, AC/DC and a host of other bands that are the bedrock of rock music. I also like the original blues musicians.

Is there any particular meaning behind the name "Robert Marlow and the High Priests"?

Robert Marlow: The High Priests are the name of the band and it has meanings on several levels. Rock music is my religion and I am the new High Priest of Rock n Roll. I am trying to bring rock music back to its glory days and we like to get High.

Who were your favorite artists and did they have an influence on your current music?

Robert Marlow: My main influences are Johnny Walker, Charles Bukowski, and Caligula, for obvious reasons.

If you could pick any artist from any time period, who would you want to perform with?

Robert Marlow: I would love to perform with Rihanna, just to see if I could shag her.

You're a Scottish musician, but you currently live in Sacramento? Have you ever performed in Scotland?
